Participatory Budgeting (https://www.participate.nyc.gov/processes/ccdistrict22) is a chance for a community to directly decide how to spend part of a public budget by sharing ideas, developing proposals, and voting on community projects. 1 million dollars of the Council Member’s budget will be allocated for physical infrastructure projects that benefit the public and have a lifespan of at least 5 years. For example, projects such as local improvements to schools, parks, libraries, housing, and other public spaces can be funded. This year, a brand new shared library for Q300/PS17 is on the ballot!
Between March 25th and April 2nd, 2023, anyone age 11+ who lives, works, or goes to school in District 22 will decide how to spend over $1 million on projects that address safety and health issues in the district. Vote now at https://vote.pbnyc.org.
