What to expect

We are hoping this event is frightfully fantastic! There will be a live DJ to get the party started, so we hope to see those kiddos tearing up the dance floor and playing some fun dance games! There will be an assortment of Fall themed table games, and crafts, and a few other spooky surprises. We encourage kids to try their hand at all the games for a chance to win small prizes. Thank you to all of you who have sent in treats for FUZZY. There is still time to send in some more!

Food Allergy Awareness:

We will be participating in The Teal Pumpkin Project, an initiative of Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). The Teal Project promotes safety, inclusion and respect of individuals managing food allergies. This worldwide movement offers an alternative for kids with food allergies, as well as other children for whom candy is not an option. It keeps trick or treating a fun, positive experience for all!

To ensure that this event is safe and inclusive for all to attend, regardless of food allergies and aversions, there will not be food or candy at the event. Please plan accordingly. We ask that families refrain from bringing food items into the event. All treats and prizes at the event will be non-food trinkets and treats.

Beverages:

An assortment of potions and concoctions (non-alcoholic beverages) will be available for purchase from our wizards, warlocks and witches if you dare…

8th Grade Fundraiser

Our 8th Graders will be providing printouts of photobooth photos for a suggested donation of $2 per photo (CASH ONLY). This is a student-run fundraiser to benefit the graduating class and assist with graduation related fees.

Boo-tique

Our Boo-tique will feature several fun items for your little goblins.

  • Glow in the Dark Temporary Tattoos (3 for $1)
  • Glow in the Dark Nail Stickers (2 for $1)
  • Face Gems ($3 each)
  • Hair Tinsel (5 strands for $1)
  • Spooky Slime ($2 per bag)

Costume Swap

Re-Spook, Re-Scare, Re-Wear! An exorbitant amount of costume waste is sent to landfills each year. You can do your part in helping to reduce this waste by donating any costumes you may no longer have use for to the Q300 Costume Swap. Not only will you be saving the environment, but you will also bring joy to the children who “shop” the swap and find a new costume they can keep. Costume donations can be sent to school and left with Jenny Lando in advance of the party, or you can bring them with you to the event. Costumes will be first come, first serve, and sizes are not guaranteed.

Restrooms

While there are 2 restrooms on the first floor for children, please note we will only have access to ONE restroom for adults.

Meet Fuzzy (Toy recycling program):

Fuzzy is going to help us collect new or “like-new” toys and trinkets to be used as prizes for the game stations at the Costume Party on Saturday, October 26th.

In our quest to help reduce the number of plastics that end up in landfills, the Q300 PTA would like to call on all families to take a look around your home and see if there are any small items that can be used as prizes for the game stations at the Costume Party. These could be any new, or “like-new” party favors, fast food meal toys, stickers, fidgets, craft items, and other small items as such.

Fuzzy will be keeping our wonderful Parent Coordinator, Jenny Lando company from October 15th – 25th. You might be able to spot the at the Lower Division gate at drop-off and pick-up times. Feel free to send in donation items with your kids to “feed” to Fuzzy during those times. Fuzzy will spend their day in Ms. Jenny’s office, so if your child takes the bus, Ms. Jenny will also make occasional classroom visits with Fuzzy, so students can drop their items off then. At the Upper Division, we ask that donations be sent to the main office and not that they are for the Costume Party.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation with this and all PTA initiatives, and look forward to seeing you all at the Costume Party on Saturday, October 26th.
