Q300 Strong Design Competition – General Information
The Q300 PTA is excited to announce the launch of the Q300 Strong Design Competition. We’ve taken Principal Sonita’s unwavering motto, Q300 Strong, developed it into an arts enrichment project for the students and will generate some much-needed community-unifying school spirit.
This is how the Competition works:
- Upper Division students will design a logo for a T-shirt.
- Lower Division students will design a logo for a bookmark.
- One winning design will be chosen from each Division and produced by Q300 & the PTA. The winners will receive a one-year Family Membership to the Museum of Modern Art. And every student in the school will receive a Q300 Strong T-shirt, bookmark and pencil.

Q300 Strong Design Competition: Lower Division
Competition Information for Lower Division Teachers, Students and Families
Thank you for participating in the Q300 Strong Design Competition. We know our students are filled with creativity and we’re excited to have this opportunity for them to amplify their community spirit. The Q300 Strong Design Competition will take place from Tuesday March 23, 2021 – Friday April 9, 2021. Students in the Lower Division will enter the competition by designing a logo for “Q300 Strong” to be printed on a 2″x6″ double-sided bookmark. One winning design will be chosen by a panel of professional Artists and Designers. The winning design will be printed on a bookmark and distributed to every student at Q300 courtesy of Sonita & Q300. The winner will also have the inaugural honor of designing Q300s first-ever official spirit gear! In addition, the winner will receive a one-year family membership to the Museum of Modern Art.
Competition Logo Design Parameters:
- Designs must say Q300 Strong.
- Designs must fit within a 2″x6″ double-sided bookmark. Please see attached template. *One-sided designs are also valid and will also be considered.
- There are no limitations for color nor medium. Reasonable 3-D designs must be photographed for 2-D printing.
- Designs can be hand-drawn or created digitally. Hand-drawn designs must be scanned to size at 300dpi and submitted as a .png file. Digitally created designs must also be 300dpi and submitted as a .png file.
- Submissions must include your name, class and a parent/guardian’s email address.
Competition Logo Design Rules:
- All designs must be original and created by a student at Q300.
- Designs imitating or including existing branding, copyrighted material or pre-existing art, such as clip art or web art, will not be accepted.
- Each student may enter up to two designs as two separate submissions.
- All design submissions must be digitally emailed to q300strong_submissions@q300pta.org by 10pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 to qualify.
Q300 Strong Design Considerations:
- What does Q300 Strong mean to you? And how does it make you feel?
- What would you like others to feel when they see the words Q300 Strong?
- Is your design legible? Can it be read vertically or horizontally?
- Consider other logo designs that you like. Are they just text, an image, or both? How do they communicate their message?

One winning design will be chosen by a panel of professional Artists and Designers. The winning design will be printed on a T-shirt and distributed to every student at Q300 courtesy of the PT A. The winner will also have the inaugural honor of designing Q300s first-ever official spirit wear! In addition, the winner will receive a one-year family membership to the Museum of Modern Art.

- Designs must say Q300 Strong.
- One winning design will be printed on an all-black crew-neck T-shirt. Please consider this when choosing your two colors.
- There will only be a maximum of two-colors printed. Designs must comprise of two-colors or less.
- Designs must be no larger than 10″x10″. *Note that the Competition Committee reserves the right to resize the winning design to fit various T-Shirt sizes.
- Designs can be hand-drawn or created digitally. Hand-drawn designs must be scanned to size at 300dpi and submitted as a .png file. Digitally created designs must also be 300dpi and submitted as a .png file.
