International Potluck and Festival 2019

Place: PS17 campus (28-37 29th St, Astoria, NY 11102)

Our 5th annual Winter International Potluck and Festival will be on Friday, January 25th at the Elementary School Campus from 6:30-8 pm. This is a school wide event! K-8 extravaganza! This is a lovely community event where every brings dishes from all over the world!

We also have craft tables, activities, and raffle and auction prizes while eating great food. This event is a tradition and was the FIRST EVER Q300 school-wide event (originally in November 2014) and we will be celebrating our 5th year as a school!

There will be items raffled and auctioned at the event (restaurants, toys, gift cards, etc…) but the emphasis on the camp prizes (which will launch before the event). Please help us get great prizes! We already have some which are listed below! Winter Festival Prize Form

Help for donations for Q300’s 5th Annual Summer Auction

We had some fantastic auction items last year and we already have some great prizes on deck (see below). How do we always get such great items to auction? FROM YOU!

We need your help to get more auction items and sponsors for our journal. We are seeking donated items and sponsors and YOU can help put us over the top. Here is a sample letter (link) to use when soliciting donations or sponsorships. Feel free to adapt it! And, while in person requests (especially with your children present) are always the most effective, here’s a sample email you can use as well (again, feel free to adapt it!).

DONATE AUCTION ITEMS like restaurant gift cards, small business gift cards, kids’ activities, tickets to the theater or sporting events, gift baskets, vacation home weekends and hotel stays. More personal items are great too. We love parent experiences – do you have a talent or skill, amateur or professional, to share with the community? Our parents have offered up everything from home-cooked meals to a singing telegram experience, from architecture consultation to percussion lessons, from a book reading to Chinatown tours and more. Use this online auction prize donation form to submit the donation info. Please be as detailed as possible and include all items restrictions, expiration dates, etc. Questions? Sunday, May 7th – Q300 Auction and Dance Party

Celebrate Q300 with Parents, Students and Teachers!

DJ! DANCING! FOOD & DRINK! SILENT AUCTION! RAFFLES!

The Event

The Q300 PTA cordially invites you and your family to join us on May 7th for the “Stepping Into Summer Dance Party and Silent Auction” at The Chian Federation in Astoria. Dance the afternoon away as our DJ spins family friendly tunes! An array of delicious food will be served so leave Sunday dinner to us! We will also be hosting a silent auction featuring tons of exciting prizes and raffling off fabulous gifts! All proceeds will go toward providing continuous PTA-funded enrichment programs for our beloved students.

Tickets on the day of the event will be $30 for adults. $18 for kids.

The Q300 Middle School Information Sessions will be held on 5/11 from 5:30 – 6:30.

Families will observe a presentation about Q300, have an opportunity to ask questions, and take a walk through our 4th floor.

Evening Session 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm

To enter the information session, please bring a copy of your child’s score sheet with a score of 97th percentile or higher. We recommend taking public transportation as parking might not be easily found.

2016 Summer Read-a-Thon

We are thrilled and excited to launch the first school wide Summer Read-a-thon! Q300 is a community of learners and readers, and we continue our passion for books and knowledge into the summer months (while simultaneously raising money for our music program)!

In the next few days, you will be getting a read-a-thon packet, which includes Grade specific instructions and summer reading lists/log sheets, as well as pledge sheets for students! We have attached these here, but printed copies are also going home! Our goal is for each Q300 student to raise $50.00 (through sponsors far and wide) or to ask 10 people for donations!

We will have both paper pledge sheets as well as an online platform (that allows for collecting donations online), and we urge you to take 3 minutes to set up the latter immediately.
