It’s time for our school-wide Summer Read-a-Thon! Q300 is a community of learners and readers, and we continue our passion for books and knowledge into the summer months while raising money for our enrichment programs. A Read-a-Thon is when participants set a reading goal and ask for sponsorships as they read. These sponsorships raise money for Q300 enrichment programs such as art, chess, music, dance, and more.
For questions, contact VP Fundraising at fundraising@q300pta.org.
How it Works
- Setting Goals: How many books do you want to read over the summer? For example: “I am going to read 20 books!” Suggested reading lists will be announced and shared on the Q300 PTA website.
- Get Sponsors: Students share their reading goals with family and friends and ask for donations. They can use the paper Sponsor List or set up an online Read-a-Thon page where sponsors can donate by credit card. To create your student’s donation page, go to https://app.99pledges.com/fund/Q300readathon/addme. Our goal is for each Q300 student to raise $25, or to ask 2 people for donations of any amount.
- Complete Reading Log: Students record their books on the paper Reading Log. Time spent by parents or others reading aloud to a student counts too! Additional Reading Logs, Book Review forms, and suggested reading lists can be found on the Q300 PTA website.
- Write a Book Review: Students may also complete the Book Review form to share books they loved and recommend them to other readers. Book reviews will count toward a chance for winning the grade prize.
- Collect & Turn in Donations, Reading Logs, and Book Reviews: Students need to bring their completed Reading Logs, Book Reviews, Sponsor List, and any donations to their teachers by Wednesday, September 16, 2026, to be considered for prizes. If any donations were cash or check, submit them in an envelope with the child’s name, upcoming class, and label “Readathon.”
